Peek into my Week

I love hearing about what the bloggers I follow do. It makes them seem more like real people than just a couple pictures on a website. This last week was so different than my normal weeks. It was nice to have a change of pace from my normal, long weeks.

I ended up going out for coffee about three times.. oops. I love this local coffee shop that is right by my school. It is the perfect place for friends to meet up and just chill out.

Tuesday was a snow day! My school district is known for never giving us time off so it was a huge so much prettier outside.

This week seemed to be one of the weeks that teachers all agreed to pile on homework. Every night I had at least 2.5-4 hours of homework. I can definitely tell that I'm a junior! It's weeks like these that make me so excited for summer.

I bought the cutest skirt from Nordstrom's (this one). I had been looking for a black skirt for quite a while and it seems I finally found the perfect one. Sadly when I got it, I found out that it was a size too small so i'll just have to exchange it for a size bigger. Guess it shows that you really should listen to the reviews!

Best of January

New year, new monthly post. I've decided that for this year I will try to do a monthly favorites post. These are probably one of my favorites to read or watch on you tube. I find it interesting to see what others like because it always gives me inspiration to try something new. So each month on the 31st or 30th or whatever, come check out what I have been loving that month.

Hunter Boots: I finally got a pair of black hunters this year for Christmas. I have been wanting them for around 3 years so it is no surprise that I wear them all of the time. I really like to wear them to school because even if i'm wearing a "lazy" outfit, the boots always make the outfit look a little better.

Water Bottle: Over break I kept getting these really bad headaches and I found out it was from the fact that I didn't have any water. Needless to say I really like having my water bottle with me at school. I use a Camelbak water bottle, and it is covered with stickers that I have received from various companies. (see how here) By adding the stickers it makes for a fun looking water bottle and no one else has.

Pearl Earrings: I took a break from wearing earring for a while and found that I really missed the way they looked, so I've started wearing my pearls again. I find that wearing pearls make everything seem a little classier so I am really happy that I decided to start wearing them again.

Camp Socks: Who doesn't love camp socks? Most people really like J.Crew's socks but I have found that Eddie Bauer makes some really nice ones. There are four colors, and I have all of them if that says anything about how much I love them. I wear them almost everyday and they look really good when paired with my Sperry boots.  Some of the socks are available on the website, but the fossil and pink colors are, and the pink is even on sale!

L.L. Bean Flannel: It has been insanely cold where I live and I have found that this is probably the warmest flannel you'll ever find. I love mine because it doesn't have red in it, like my other flannels. There isn't to much that I can say about this flannel other than that it is amazingly warm and probably the best ones you can find.

Sperry Saltwater Duck Boot: It seems like everyone has these boots these days, but I don't blame them! I've had them for about a year now and they are still in perfect shape. I wear these boots more than anything else in the fall and winter. Since they are fleece lined, your feet stay really warm tromping through the snow and rarely get wet. These boots are most likely my favorite pair of shoes in my closet.

What was one of your favorites this month?

Outfit: Winter Wonderland

I always like to make posts about what my favorite thing to wear is, but it has been so cold recently that I can be found only wearing a winter coat and leggings. Where I live every single girl wears a long black parka which is why I really like my coat. The red makes it stick out with all the black around. I have also found that just by wearing a little red, it makes everything else around seem a little brighter.
BTW it was 0 degrees when I took these photos!

Bucket List

Today is officially the first day of the second semester of my junior year. I can't believable how fast high school is going! I've been able to do some pretty cool things so far, but I've been thinking about what I want to do. So here is some of the main things that I want to do before I graduate.

Do you have any specific posts you want to see this year?

How to Survive Finals

My finals start this week so I thought a refresher on how to live through this week would be a good idea. This year finals are a big deal for me since I am so close to being able to keep my 4.0 GPA, that I am going to do everything I can to keep it. Below I have some of the tips I use to help myself through finals.

SLEEP: You have no idea how much not sleeping hurts your grades. I don't care if you feel you need to study more, not sleeping will hurt your grade more than an extra hour of studying will help. It's recommended to get 8 hours of sleep so try to get that 8 hours for a couple days before the final.

Study: This is obvious. When you study make sure to do it productively. Put your phone away, sit in a quiet room, and remove all distractions. You'll find that you won't take as long to study, and what you did do will be easier for you to recall.

Relax: The night before the big day or week, do something that will take your mind off of the final. Have a bubble bath and listen to music, or go for a run, or even have movie night with a close friend. Just whatever you do make sure to go to bed early enough.

Eat: Don't eat because you're stressed, but don't let the stress stop you from eating. Eat all of your meals, especially breakfast. Breakfast helps you get the energy you need to stay focus throughout the day.

Do you have any other tips you use?

Outfit: PJ Day

These are the comfiest shoes I ever set my feet in.

All time favorite mug

Getting ready for good ole school

Today is the first day I'm back to school, so to celebrate this horrible occasion, I'll share with you what I did this break. I spent the whole time in pj's that I got for Christmas (see the rest of what I got here). I love just hanging out in pajama's because it is such a relaxing feeling.  I spent most of my days sipping hot chocolate and doing homework, oh what fun. Even though homework was a big part of my break it was so nice to spend time with my family and get to see friends that I haven't seen in a while.
