Thursday Three

Midterm season is going full swing but I have managed to take some time for myself, mainly through the form of coffee as you'll see below. It was a pretty typical week ie a lot of homework, meetings and going to class. With that being said, it was still a good week. Here is what happened.

|1|
Last week it was beautiful and around 50 degrees and now all of the sudden it snowed again. As much as I love snow, it was so nice to wear lighter clothes. It really put me in a warm weather state of mind. All I can think about are farmer's markets, summer fruit and breakfast on the patio. I am so excited to cook with spring produce; winter fruits and veggies are my least favorite sadly.

My favorite way to spend my nights has consisted on a big mug of (decaf) coffee, some dark chocolate and bullet journaling to calming music. My favorite chocolate bars I have tried have been Theo salted toffee and  Divine Dark Chocolate with Hazelnut Truffle. Oh my, you need to try the Divine bar is it simply, well, divine. I don't think I have tasted chocolate before that actually made me smile. It was that good.

Wednesday I finish class at one so I have decided that from now on, every Wednesday I am going to go study at a coffee shop. This week was the first week I spent the whole afternoon studying at a coffee shop and it was so nice. I was way more productive than normal and I have convinced it was due to the location change. At Collectivo, I tried a cortado which is equal parts espresso and steamed milk. I really liked a stronger coffee flavor than a latte so I will be ordering this from now on.

Bullet Journal Inspiration

I mentioned last week that I started bullet journaling in a Thursday Three. I have been loving it as a way to destress at night. It combines so many things that I love: organization, doodling, and planning. Starting out was hard for me because there were so many different choices, but now that I started I can't seem to stop. I spend too much time on Pinterest and looking at blogs for new ideas of what I can do. I have found some ideas that I really love, so I thought I'd share them!

Up Water Intake - HouseBeautiful.com

For me, I always seem to drink more water when I am tracking it so this would be a perfect way to keep myself accountable. Something this pretty would be such a fun way to do this.

Bullet Journal® with Clarissa @my_journaling_corner. "The Meal Plan log helps me keep track of meals, and encourages me to cook more often and not to skip meals."

I write down what I am doing to eat every week to help with grocery shopping and this is so much better than just doing it on my phone. This way I can look back on what I made in the past weeks which would make planning easier.

Half marathon bullet training journal

In this upcoming year, I am doing a 20k, a half marathon and a marathon! I have found that writing down a training plan has helped me in the past keeps me motivated, and I also always know what I need to do. I will definitely be setting something up like this for these races, especially the marathon in the fall.

Homeschool planning: Books to Read How I Plan my homeschool year in my bullet journal:

I always start and then lose book lists so this would be perfect for me. I love to read and by doing this set up, I can keep track of what I want to read by writing in the name, and then what I have read by coloring in the book color once I finish.

Thank you for tagging us Let's call this the Friday Financial because it kind of fits, right? Lovely page from @bujo_nina

My record with wishlists is similar to that of book lists; I make them all of the time and then lose it. This would be so helpful when I comes to my birthday and Christmas so I don't have to scramble to give other people gift ideas. I also want to make something like this, but for gifts to give.

Health never looked so good.
Healthy habits are so important to have, but there are some that I struggle to keep. I love this one because it isn't overwhelming with things to do, but it will still help. I can chose the things I actually care about such as flossing and eating fruits and veggies, and ignore ones I don't want or already do.

I have really been loving bullet journaling as a way to destress. As much as I love blogging and reading, sometimes the last thing I want to do at the end of the day is sit down and stare at a computer screen or read more. Most of my classes involve online reading daily so by the end of the day, my eyes are always tired. I would really recommend bullet journaling to anyone.

Do you bullet journal?

Maddie

Thursday Three

Midterm season is finally in full swing so free time has been at a minimum. I wish I had more time to blog, but if nothing else, I want to try to keep doing a Thursday Three so I don't drop off completely. One fun part of this week is that I meal prepped lunch again: Taco Salad. It is so easy to make and tastes really good (of course, it's tacos) This week has been busy, but really good so check it out!

As a Valentine's gift my mom sent me a bullet journal and pens. Well this week I finally got to start on it. I love being able to sit down at the end of the day, turn on some relaxing music, and relive stress through doodling and planning. My mom and sister also got bullet journals so it has been a great way to keep in touch by sharing what we have created.

Speaking of my mom, she came to visit last weekend and it was so much fun. We went out to one of my favorite breakfasts in Madison (Basset Street Brunch Club), shopped and then she got to meet my roommate for next year. We are so close that it seems like we don't have enough time when she comes, but I always love her little day trips to see me.

It is unseasonably warm right now which has been so nice. I got to breakout my favorite shoes (these Sperrys) since I didn't need to wear socks. Wearing the Sperrys, plus these flowers has put me in a good mood this week. I got these flowers last weekend and it has allowed me to bring the spring feeling into my dorm room. Seeing them cheers me up every time.

How was your week?

Maddie
