Best of February

This month has flown by. I only had one full week of school due to snow days and late starts so that certainly helped. This has been a crazy month in every aspect. In school I did pretty poorly on a math test, so I found myself working out more and drinking tea to de-stress myself. The weather had a week where is was below zero, there was a snowstorm, and also a weekend where it was 45 degrees. I wore so many different things because the weather was crazy, but I consistently found myself reaching for my Nike leggings and my sperrys to wear everyday. With this crazy weather, my skin had be freaking out so I used a ton of lotion  and lip balm this month. Lastly, I am making a point to look nicer at school in regards to make-up so I've been wearing more. I really like just putting on blush and a little eye liner (I actually use black eye shadow)  because it looks nice, but isn't hard to do.
Best new thing I tried this month: The Skim. It keeps me update on what is happening without super long stories. I love waking up in the morning and learning a few new things. My only issue is that they don't send out anything on the weekends...

Which style of monthly favorites did you like better, this months or January's?

What's On My Playlist?

I listen to a lot of random songs normally, but the genre tends to change each season. For example in the winter I listen to more of the pop songs but come summer all I listen to is country. I'm really interested in finding new songs, so if you have a favorite or two please comment it down below!

College Tour: Madison

If you look hard, you can see the lake that is right on campus.

Since I love politics, it would be so interesting being right near the capital!

I had a day off of school last Monday, and what better way to use that time than to go on a college tour!? (I have many in mind) My mom and I went to tour University of Wisconsin Madison. I wasn't sure if I would like it since I don't like being with a lot of people at a time, but I was pleasantly surprised. The campus was so big that it felt like two different places- a busy, city like feel and a calm peaceful area near the lake. I am in love with the idea that you can have bonfires at the lake as well as rent paddle boards. I am a true Wisconsin girl when it comes to living the lake life.
I was so happy that I convinced my mom to go to Chick-fil-a. She had never been before so I wanted to her try it. Needless to say I got her hooked.

See my other college trip here!

New Lilly Pulitzer Spring Collection

I am in love with the new Lilly Pulitzer collection! The new patterns are fantastic and the bright colors make me want spring to come so much faster! I will definitely have to debate about buying that pillow because it would go perfect with my room! I really want to have a Lilly dress for graduation so I might just have to snatch one of these up over the summer. Overall I have to say Lilly gets an A+ for the spring!

What is your favorite piece in the collection?

Outfit: School Day

// Sweater // Tank (similar)  // Jeans // Bracelet // Shoes //

I always try to look fine for school because I find the saying "Look Good, Feel Good" to be totally true. Wearing a cardigan over a tank top is something so easy to do and it allows me to wear my favorite summer tanks all year round. One of the bracelets is from Pandora and it has a bunch of charms that I've collected over the years and the other one I got at Pike's Place Market when I went to Seattle a couple years ago. I will try to find a similar leather bracelet to link above.

Peek into my Week

I love hearing about what the bloggers I follow do. It makes them seem more like real people than just a couple pictures on a website. This last week was so different than my normal weeks. It was nice to have a change of pace from my normal, long weeks.

I ended up going out for coffee about three times.. oops. I love this local coffee shop that is right by my school. It is the perfect place for friends to meet up and just chill out.

Tuesday was a snow day! My school district is known for never giving us time off so it was a huge so much prettier outside.

This week seemed to be one of the weeks that teachers all agreed to pile on homework. Every night I had at least 2.5-4 hours of homework. I can definitely tell that I'm a junior! It's weeks like these that make me so excited for summer.

I bought the cutest skirt from Nordstrom's (this one). I had been looking for a black skirt for quite a while and it seems I finally found the perfect one. Sadly when I got it, I found out that it was a size too small so i'll just have to exchange it for a size bigger. Guess it shows that you really should listen to the reviews!

Best of January

New year, new monthly post. I've decided that for this year I will try to do a monthly favorites post. These are probably one of my favorites to read or watch on you tube. I find it interesting to see what others like because it always gives me inspiration to try something new. So each month on the 31st or 30th or whatever, come check out what I have been loving that month.

Hunter Boots: I finally got a pair of black hunters this year for Christmas. I have been wanting them for around 3 years so it is no surprise that I wear them all of the time. I really like to wear them to school because even if i'm wearing a "lazy" outfit, the boots always make the outfit look a little better.

Water Bottle: Over break I kept getting these really bad headaches and I found out it was from the fact that I didn't have any water. Needless to say I really like having my water bottle with me at school. I use a Camelbak water bottle, and it is covered with stickers that I have received from various companies. (see how here) By adding the stickers it makes for a fun looking water bottle and no one else has.

Pearl Earrings: I took a break from wearing earring for a while and found that I really missed the way they looked, so I've started wearing my pearls again. I find that wearing pearls make everything seem a little classier so I am really happy that I decided to start wearing them again.

Camp Socks: Who doesn't love camp socks? Most people really like J.Crew's socks but I have found that Eddie Bauer makes some really nice ones. There are four colors, and I have all of them if that says anything about how much I love them. I wear them almost everyday and they look really good when paired with my Sperry boots.  Some of the socks are available on the website, but the fossil and pink colors are, and the pink is even on sale!

L.L. Bean Flannel: It has been insanely cold where I live and I have found that this is probably the warmest flannel you'll ever find. I love mine because it doesn't have red in it, like my other flannels. There isn't to much that I can say about this flannel other than that it is amazingly warm and probably the best ones you can find.

Sperry Saltwater Duck Boot: It seems like everyone has these boots these days, but I don't blame them! I've had them for about a year now and they are still in perfect shape. I wear these boots more than anything else in the fall and winter. Since they are fleece lined, your feet stay really warm tromping through the snow and rarely get wet. These boots are most likely my favorite pair of shoes in my closet.

What was one of your favorites this month?
