Best of November

November went by so quickly. It must have been because I was gone almost every weekend. I feel like things go faster when there is something to look forward to, and this month was full of that. There was my visit to Marquette University, my visit to UW Madison, and finally Thanksgiving. This month I spent so much time planning for these that it went by quickly.

It seems really random that I would have scrunchies on here, but I had to get some for a 90s theme party and I actually love them. They don't pull on my hair and cause it to break. I have some friends who wear them all of the time, and now I totally understand why.
I was so excited to get a chambray shirt because I have been wearing my moms for the past year and now I finally found one that I like. There was a new store in my mall that opened and there it was! I also have been loving my plaid scarf. A couple of months ago I had a green plaid scarf on the blog and I loved it so much that I got a red one as well. Now that it has snowed and it is always cold outside, I am always wearing my bean boots. They are perfect to throw on with a t-shirt and leggings or with a nicer outfit for school.
Finally, I have been using my duffel bag a ton. The Vera Bradley one looks small, but it can actually fit so much. I used it both times I visited a college and it held everything I needed. I would totally recommend one if you don't have one already.

What was your month?

15 Gifts under $30

Whether you are going to parties and need a hostess gift, are giving small gifts for you friends or need socking stuffer ideas, here is a list of 15 different things that would fit that bill perfectly. Some of these gifts are better for different occasions but they all are perfect to show your appreciation for others.

Out off all of these my favorite is the Vanilla Chai Candle. I don't normally light candles but one that smells like Chai could definitely change that. I adore chai tea and it would be so fun to be smell it. I also think that the Essie nail polish is the perfect gift for people when you don't know what to get them. Just pick up a festive color and it becomes a great small gift. My mom normally gets me some fun color for almost every holiday and it has become one of my favorite things!

What was your favorite?

Thursday Three

Instead of doing a Thursday Three in regards to what I did in the last week, this one will be three things that I am thankful for this Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving for the food, but I love getting to see some family members that I don't normally see too many other times of the year. With that being said here are three of the things that I am thankful for:

1
The number one thing that I am thankful for is my family. Who else would put up with me through all of my craziness. I am so grateful for their support over the years, especially with all of this college stress. I can always rely on them if I ever need advice or anything else. I really don't know what I would do with them.

2
The same thankfulness goes with my other family: my friends. These girls listen to me complain about everything and still want to be around me. I can always count on them for a laugh and a good time. Most of all I don't know what I would do without them. Even though we both look horrid in this picture, my best friend who gets me through the worst of days.

3
Finally, I am unbelievably thankful for Door County. We all have the place that makes us the happiest, and this is my place. There is no where else in the world that I would rather be. The happy memories, calming feeling and people there all make it so that I am at my best there.

There are so many other things that I am thankful for, but Happy Thanksgiving!

Cold Weather Accessories

The weather is cooling down quickly in Wisconsin and it is becoming time for everyone to break out their cold weather clothes. An important part of staying warm is the accessories. I normally wear mittens that I got from a local craft fair and my scarves are any number of my circle scarves. Most people just wear boring hats and mittens so I have rounded up some accessories so you can stay warm, but still look cute.

I love the cute fox mittens but my personal favorites are the hats. I don't normally wear hats in the winter but I am debating about buying the Great Lakes hat. I think is just so cute. Overall I probably won't buy too many new scarves or things like that just because I have so many to begin with. I can't believe how fast it has gotten cold but at least now we can stay warm and still look good!

What are your favorites was to stay warm?

Thursday Three

This past weekend I got to visit one of my really good friends at Marquette University. It was a ton of fun to see her again and meet some of her friends. She made sure that I had a great weekend. There was a couple of set backs such as getting lost on my way and having some issues with checking in, but other than that it was a great time. Here is what happened:

1
This trip didn't really change my opinion on Marquette. I have always known that it is a school that I would be really happy at and I would get a great education. With that being said it isn't my current favorite school, but I would be totally happy if I went their for college.

2
One of my favorite things that I did at Marquette was go to the Third Ward. It is a super cute area of Milwaukee with a ton of boutiques and great places to eat. We went to Cafe Benelux which was really good. This is definitely a place I would go to as much as I can in college.

|3|
Milwaukee is really a beautiful city. I love how close Marquette is to Lake Michigan. Being near water is so important because I feel like after spending one hour near water, I am so much more relaxed that before. The view was amazing when I was there. This was definitely a #nofilter moment

And next weekend I get to visit UW Madison!

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

I always struggle with what to wear on Thanksgiving. I either can't think of anything or I have too many ideas. The night before I am always scrolling on Pinterest to find the perfect outfit. I have made three outfits to help you all think of something to wear! My favorite one is the middle outfit.

Each of these outfits are full of fall colors, perfect for Thanksgiving without getting Christmasy. I always try to make sure that my outfit is comfortable and that there is room for me to fill my stomach! I hope these gave you some idea of what to wear, and if you have any other ideas please comment them down below!

What one is your favorite?

Cabin Crew Cozy

| Hat | Scarf | Top | Jeans | Socks (Similar) | Boots |

Great Lakes Clothing company makes some of the best clothes for fall, and the Cabin Crew is by far and away my favorite. It is over sized and soft which makes it super comfortable. I normally like to wear with with a scarf or a vest. The cabin crew is used in my closet as a replacment for a sweatshirt. It is made of heavier fabric so it is perfect for those 50 degree fall days. This is my go-to outfit on weekends. I would totally recommend looking into Great Lakes Clothing Co. and the cabin crews are definilty worth a buy. You can see my post about what I love from Great Lakes here.

Have you looked into Great Lakes Clothing Company?

Thursday Three

This was a pretty uneventful week. I seem to spend most of my time writing college essays so I am not doing too many exciting things. I am just excited for next weekend because I get to visit my friend in college. Here is what happened this week:

1

I made dinner for the first time! This sounds like of weird, but I had never made dinner for my family before. This was one of my bucket list items to do before I went to college. I made breaded chicken, fettuccine alfredo, and broccoli. This is one of my favorite meals that my mom makes and I was so glad it turned out well.

2

This weekend I finally started practicing soccer again. I hadn't done anything since my high school season ended in June. (oops) I figure since I am the goalie for the varsity team that I should probably start practicing again. It was nice to get back on the field.

3

This is super random, but I had chocolate fondue this past week. It was amazing. It also shows how uneventful my week was. This is one of the most fun desserts to eat. Chocolate Fondue combines a lot of my favorite things: bananas, strawberries, chocolate, pound cake, and marshmallows. I could have it for dessert everyday.

How was your week?

What I Eat in a (Fall) Day

I love food. That is a fact. What people eat can show a little part of life that no one sees. Here is what I typically eat on a normal day. Obviously somethings change but think of this as my average meal. I mentioned this as a fall edition because what I eat varies each season. So here is my typical day of eating:

Breakfast

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. If I skip breakfast, my entire day is messed up. I typically have pretty normal foods such as a bagel with jam, a zucchini bread or oatmeal. I like to change it up so I normally have a different breakfast everyday. This breakfast was granola, bananas and flax seed.

Lunch

I really don't like lunch. For this reason, I always eat breakfast for lunch. In this picture I am having an English muffin with pumpkin butter and peanuts on the side. For lunch I just eat any breakfast food I can find.

Dinner

My mom makes a homemade dinner every night. It always changes, but it normally has some sort of meat, starch, and vegetables. I love her dinners so those will be one of the things I miss the most in college.

Dessert

I have dessert every day. I don't feel like the day is done without some form of dessert. Normal I eat ice cream after dinner, but once a week my mom makes some kind of special dessert. This week is was apple crisp with ice cream.

What is your favorite meal of the day?

Vineyard Vines Favorites

I just got the latest Vineyard Vine's catalog this week, and Vineyard Vines definitely stepped up their game. I didn't really like anything from their summer line, but this new winter line is great. There are so many clothing items I wish I could have.

I would say that my favorite things on this list are the funnel neck tunic and the quilted shep shirt. I so wish that I lived in a warmer place so that I could get that adorable plaid skirt and wear it for Christmas. I could go on and on about each peice from the winter collection but I will refrain. I know it is a little early to start thinking about winter clothes, but with these new arrivals I couldn't resist!
What do you like from Vineyard Vines?

Thursday Three

Last weekend I visited Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It is about a seven hour drive from my house so two days of my long weekend was spent in the car. The other day was spent walking about Oxford and exploring the campus. I have two other college visits coming up in the next month so I am very excited for those. Here was my week:

1
Miami University is the most quintessential college campus I have ever seen. Every building on campus is made of red brick, there are multiple quads and so many students wearing school colors. Miami looks like it is right out of a movie.

2
So I went to the Oxford Doughnut Shoppe last weekend. I had found them on Instagram and that was the one thing I really wanted to do when visiting. These doughnuts were the best I have ever eaten. I got a creme filled and a vanilla cake doughnuts. I so wish that I hadn't eaten a big breakfast because I wish I could've eaten every flavor!

3
I finished reading Before the Fall this weekend. I was a really good book about a plane crash and how one of the two survivors deal with it. It goes back and forth between points of view (my favorite type of book) as people try to figured out what happened. I would totally recommend it, along with the cake doughnut.

Happy November!

Senior Pictures

I had mentioned in my last Thursday Three how I had finally gotten my senior pictures. Well, now I have all the pictures that I ordered. Senior Pictures were the part of senior year that I was most looking forward to so I am pretty happy with how they turned out. Here are my favorite ones.

I have to say my favorite is the one laughing the in grass!
